We’re Live and Preparing the Team!

Hello again, Friends!

So! Midwife in Amish Country: Celebrating God’s Gift of Life is up and available for pre-order on Amazon and my publisher, Regnery Faith, has created a set of advance reader copies for media and marketing purposes, as well as a digital form of the book exclusively for the members of my launch team!

Watch for news about how you can help me launch this book in a post scheduled to run on January 1st!

What an amazing adventure writing this has book has been!

Seven years ago I began sharing Facebook posts about the births I was attending. A handful of you said, “Kim, you ought to write a book,” and the wheels of my mind began to turn.

Four years passed before I finally pulled down a stack of old journals, dug out my binder of aging records, tripped and scattered the whole lot the length and breadth of the stairway, rubbed out my shins, scooped it all up again, plunked myself down on the living room sofa, rested my chin on my palm, and allowed the memories to begin bubbling to the surface.

Half a year later I finished what I supposed was my completed manuscript—haha—and I plunged into the enigmatic and arduous process of sweet-talking an agent into representing me (thanks with all my heart to Cindy Lambert for making that happen) and garnering the courage to listen to folks willing to be honest with me about that manusc—er—first draft (many thanks for that, Steven Osterholzer and Pam Crowl).

Now, here we are! Not only did I get an agent (thank you, Wes Yoder), but I got an a book contract and an editor who gives away candy (endless thank yous, Gary Terashita)!

And, most importantly—my friends and faithful readers! Oh, thank you, YOU

The publication of this book and all of you who helped make it a reality are among the most wonderful gifts I received this year—second only to my two brand-new grandbabies

I invite you to follow this linto pre-order YOUR copy today!
