NEWS!

Okay, friends, here we go!

Four evenings ago I sketched out a plan for the week that initially allocated this particular blustery Thursday evening for client chart assembly, plus packing for a weekend in the mountains devoted to capturing more fully the wonderful ten weeks I spent in Michigan receiving and tending my grandchildren and their parents.

The morning after I crafted my plan, however, I opened an email from Gary, my editor, telling me he was through with my manuscript and needed me to review it and return it as soon as humanly possible. He even promised me a sack of my favorite candy if I could manage the task by Friday!

I wrote back that I’d try my best, but warned him I thought it would likely take me till Monday.

I hit send on my response, then sat back to absorb the news.

I was startled by it! Gary had told me mid-August it would take him three months to get through my submission, so I’d expected to have a few more weeks before Gary was finished with it.

Then, as the sense of surprise began to ebb, I was smashed with a wave of nausea. What would I find within?

But…

Well, okay, I admit it, what comes after but came AFTER I begged my long-suffering husband to look through it first in case Gary’d discovered I was actually a dreadful writer, or something else equally horrific…

I pulled myself together, reformulated the agenda for the week and weekend, and sat down to plunge in.

And, believe it or not, three weensy hours later, I was finished!

So, after months and months and MONTHS of sweaty effort, bleary-ed eyes, and a flattened derriere, my manuscript has been trimmed down to 90,267 words and sent off to the production team at Regnery Faith with a release date of April 30th, 2018 on the books and sporting the title, A Midwife in Amish Country, Celebrating God’s Gift of Life!

I’m sure you can imagine I’m bubbling away with excitement! I’m also just a wee bit worried I’ll wake one of these mornings to find the whole thing has been a fantastical dream. But so far, so good! Please, though, nobody pinch me!

The thing to check next off my calendar is the gathering of a few of you, my faithful readers and tireless cheerleaders, into a book launch team! I plan to take an on-line class offered by Anna LeBaron, the formidable founder of The #4500, a team well-known for it’s wildly successful launches. You’ll be hearing from me about that once I graduate, so keep your eyes peeled!

Before then, I’m off to spend the weekend spinning the tales of my miraculous time away after all!
Be sure to keep a watch out for them as well!

Love and Blessings!
